Loans and Mortgages

Simply put: go with a mortgage company that has staff and expertise here in our community.  There are some very good ones right in our own neighborhood and they are by far your best option.  Talking to a mortgage company representative from New Jersey or in another country generally has less than expected results and if you ask, I can probably tell you some horror stories!  With that said, below are some places I recommend for additional information.

Canon National Bank Home Mortgage Center.  Contact Laurie, Nery, or Carolyn.

Sunflower Bank - Contact Peggy Dunn locally for assistance.

Legacy Bank - Contact Laurie Cornella locally for assistance.

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority.  CHFA’s entire organization is focused on helping people succeed. Loan servicing representatives. Very good videos.

US Department of Housing and Urban Development.  This site includes sections on: figuring out what you can afford, shopping for loans, homebuying programs, shopping for a home, making an offer, getting a home inspection, and shopping for home insurance.

USDA Rural Development - Housing and Community Assistance.  Housing and Community Facilities Programs helps rural communities and individuals by providing loans and grants for housing and community facilities.

Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments.  UAACOG does a lot of work for federal organizations such as HUD.  They are an excellent resource.

National Association of Realtors: Loan Pre-approval advantages and information.

National Association of Realtors: Mortgages

National Association of Realtors: Financial Calculators

Federal Housing Authority: This part of their website deals with loan requirements.

Stewart Title Company: Financial Calculators

Stewart Title Company: Home Closings 101
